BHP Pilbara Education Partnership
The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership was established in 2005 to enhance education services and improve education outcomes in public school within Newman, Port Hedland and surrounding areas within the Shire of East Pilbara and Town of Port Hedland.
The Partnership aims to prepare children to be ready for school through an early year’s strategy that provides on school site early learning programs, and to prepare young people for life beyond school through an inclusive opportunities based program and pathways strategy.
The Early Years Strategy targets children’s readiness for school by provision of a coordinated approach to engaging families and children with important services and early intervention, supporting children aged 0-4 years.
Early Learning Program
The Partnership supports our on school site Early Learning Program, which provides families with greater access to child development services and a smooth transition to school. The program follows the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a); a set of practical evidence-based teaching and learning strategies for early childhood educators, parents, caregivers and children of non-compulsory school age’.
